Lewes Green Party responds to concerns about representation from Bridge ward residents. New contact announced.

On 5 May 2011, residents of Lewes Bridge ward successfully elected their first ever Green Party Town Councillor, as part of an exciting swing to the Green Party. We are now as disappointed as you to find that Matt has chosen to leave the Green Party in order to pursue an independent agenda as an unattached councillor.

However, we recognise that Bridge ward asked for Green Party representation at the ballot box. We would like to introduce Rob Heath as your new Green Party contact in Bridge. He will be available to ensure that your issues are addressed.

Rob will be working closely with the Green Party’s four councillors to make sure that the Liberal Democrat Town Council is held to account according to a Green Party agenda of social justice, the environment and the best interests of all Bridge ward residents.

Rob is a Bridge ward resident who has lived in Lewes all his life.

Contact Rob with any queries that you wish to bring to the attention of Lewes Town Council or Lewes District Green Party.

A GREEN PERSPECTIVE ON THAT VETO

So the Prime Minister wielded his veto rather than endorsing the EU’s new fiscal union treaty. His cavalier approach has done him and the UK few favours with our European partners and the Green Party is less than impressed by the reasons he gives for his actions. All the same, from our perspec[...]

NORMAN BAKER PROTESTS TOO MUCH

Norman Baker is very angry about environmentally aware companies like Lush and local campaigners from Friends of the Earth, the Green Party and others who dare to suggest that perhaps he is not taking the best approach when it comes to EU policies on dirty sources of fuel like tar sands. I think he [...]
